There's are two kinds of crab soup in Maryland. There might be other kinds in other places but it really doesn't mean anything because there are only two kinds in Maryland. There is Cream of Crab which, as indicated by the name, is a heavy cream based soup. And then there's Maryland Crab Soup which is pictured above. It's a lighter tomato based, veggie broth deal. Seasoned with Old Bay and full of vegetables and chunks of backfin crab meat. And if you're lucky, NO SHELLS!!!!
And I think we've already reviewed...ME + SHELLS = GAG CITY. I don't remember being this much of a baby over shells but, what can I say? I guess I'm a diva now. At least about crab shells.
This soup was really tasty. But a little light in the crabmeat. I actually kind of noticed that through the whole trip. I guess crab has gotten ridiculously expensive. Oh well. Still a good cup of soup!
Love,
Rebecca
